Luca Trevisani was born in Verona, Italy, in 1979. In 2003 he graduated in Art History in Bologna. In 2005 he attended “Matrioska”, workshop with Tobias Rehberger at the Milan Domus Academy and the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como. In 2007 he was awarded the Furla Prize for the Arts and an artist residency at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. The winning artwork was acquired by MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna Bologna.
Among his recent exhibitions are NIMK / Montevideo ad Amsterdam (2010), Identity is a cloud at Carlo Zauli’s Museum in Faenza (2009), The truth is that the truth changes at Pinksummer, Genoa (2009).
Trevisani’s work is based on providing concepts, tools and levers to shake and move things around, with a high risk of breakage. Ideas trigger thought, which in time must ripe and translate into actions. The artist reckons abstractions must not be feared, even when they apparently seem senseless, as they represent a perfect tool to observe the world. Processes behind his works of art pertain a complex universe, stratified and rich in shades.
